Greetings from Charlottezweb,

I'm very excited to announce that we're launching a new project to retire and migrate accounts from our two oldest servers (Jetstream and Monsoon) to a newer, much more powerful configuration. 

We setup the new server this week -- Landslide -- which should be incredibly powerful.  I'm hoping you'll see a positive improvement in response times from your sites after transfer.  In addition to better hardware, it is running newer software and has improved security measures to protect your data.

I would like to schedule site moves to occur next weekend (October 3-5) or the following (October 10-12) to handle your move if you have an account on one of these servers. 

I will handle the migration for you but I will need your help in the following areas:

What's needed from you?

1.  If you have a specific timeframe requirement, please contact me immediately so we can work on scheduling it.

2.  If you run a dynamic site (such as a forum or database-driven site where it's updated constantly), contact me so we can figure out a gameplan to minimize impact.

3.  If your site is using custom code or scripts that haven't been updated in several years, it may not function properly on current versions of PHP and/or MySQL.  Please contact me asap to discuss if this may be the case.

4.  If you manage your domain name(s), you will need to update your nameservers to the new ones after the move is complete to ensure your site doesn't go offline once Jetstream and Monsoon are retired.

Please reach out to me if you're flexible with your move day and/or to coordinate any specifics you need.  I'll do my best to accommodate everyone's needs.

The current plan is to power down Jetstream and Monsoon on October 22, 2014 so I need your assistance asap.    Revised and posted on Oct 11 for the weekend of Oct 17.

I will need to hear back from you on your preferred migration time. We need to complete all moves over next weekend or the following to ensure nobody experiences any service disruption when the old servers are turned off on October 22.

I need to hear from you on when to proceed. If I don't hear back, I will migrate you next weekend however without your involvement your site(s) may go offline when your old server is shut down. I'm hoping to migrate as many accounts as possible this weekend so we are ahead of schedule so please let me know if we can move you today or tomorrow. Thanks!

A third email is being manually sent (external from our billing system) to the remaining customers now.

If I haven't heard from you by the end of the week, I will move your files however your site may go down next week when your old server is decommissioned if your domain(s) haven't been updated.

I need to hear back from you as soon as possible.

If I can move your account one evening this week, please let me know.  If you think you may have any code-related issues, the sooner we can test this the better in case other arrangements are required.

Thank you everyone for your assistance during this migration project.

All clients have been migrated as of today.  The plan is to turn these servers off next week.

Please update your nameservers per the emails sent if you haven't already.

A final email has just been sent to all customers who were migrated to Landslide reminding them to check their nameservers before Jetstream and Monsoon are retired this coming week:

Thanks to everyones' replies, we've physically migrated all accounts from Jetsream and Monsoon as of this weekend.

This is a final notice that these two servers will be erased and shut down later this coming week -- likely on Wednesday or Thursday.

If you haven't yet updated your domain name(s) to point to the new server, your site may go offline when that occurs.

If you were previously using ns3/ns4 (Monsoon) or ns25/ns26 (Jetstream), that needs to be changed as soon as possible to Landslide's nameservers:

ns1.charlottezweb.com
ns2.charlottezweb.com
