I haven't tried this yet, so use at your own risk, however, there is a ton of positive feedback on the page (guestbook) of the results...

Firefox popups
Like you, I love Firefox for many reasons, including popup blocking. So over the last few weeks I've been surprised to see occasional popups.

It turns out that some clever people figured out that you could launch popups from Flash, getting around the Firefox default settings.

Fortunately, you can get around it:

Type about:config into the Firefox location bar.
Right-click on the page and select New and then Integer.
Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
Set the value to 2.
The possible values are:

0: Allow all popups from plugins.
1: Allow popups, but limit them to dom.popup_maximum.
2: Block popups from plugins.
3: Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.

Enjoy,
Jason

HA! I've always wondered how pop-ups got by blockers, that's just ridiculous >:(

Don't know wheather or not I want to try this yet though... at this moment I can't think of any important sites that reveal pop-up's in this manner, but I don't want to chance it heh

I'm thinking I might try it at work (or on the wife's pc -- shhh! don't tell!)

:D
