My wife has a Blackberry 9900.  This is the first Blackberry we have ever owned.

She would like to set up an email account on it.  However, when we tried, we got this email: (I have changed her name to "name" and the domain of the website to "domain"

We tried again but failed.  Any suggestions please?

Thanks.

Jason

For your username, have you tried the full email address and not just the first part like they suggest?

Thanks for the reply.  We did try that.

We used the info given in cPanel:

QuoteMail Server Username: name+domain.co.uk
Incoming Mail Server: mail.domain.co.uk
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) monsoon.charlottezweb.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.domain.co.uk (server requires authentication) port 26
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) monsoon.charlottezweb.com (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

It just worked on my HTC.  Why does BB have to be so difficult...?  :P

Jason

Does the bberry ask you if you want to use SSL or not?  What about pop vs. imap?  Does it offer port settings?

I've used my bberry to check email for years but to avoid conflicting with my desktop/laptop, I've always checked it using gmail.

MrChristopher

Hi - my settings on my 9810 are like this:

Username = name@domain.co.uk (notice not the plus - I use the @)

monsoon.charlottezweb.com

IMAP

Port 993

Use SSL

And of course make sure your password is typed in correctly (upper and lower case with special characters sometimes are tricky)

Good Luck...  :)

Richard
