May 16, 2015 :: Emergency Security Rebots; Most servers

Almost all of our servers were rebooted this morning between the approximate window of 7:20am - 7:40am Eastern.  Pingdom monitored the outages to be 1-2 minutes of downtime for each server.  You can view this on our reporting site if you'd like.

For security reasons, I chose not to announce this in advance due to the nature of why the reboots were required. 

Here is the background for those interested -- You may have heard about "Venom" in the news this week.

"A potential exploit, outlined in CVE-2015-3456 (currently being dubbed the "VENOM" vulnerability), has recently been discovered that may cause complications for all servers running the Xen and KVM hypervisors, worldwide. To protect our customers, we have applied a patch that will ensure all potential threats are neutralized... "

The patch required a reboot to enable.
