Loads are good (less than 1 for me now) and I get automated emails for any service restarts (which is what happened last weekend).   I haven't seen any of that today.

I wonder if you're timing out phpmyadmin and impacting your database (and thus your site) alone?

What are you doing in phpmyadmin?

I am manually updating table values - discreptancies in DB.

Should be done now though.

Just a normal httpd restart -- approx 5 minutes.

Sorry, from now on I'll be a little more patient.

It just happened to be right when I logged on.

No problem at all -- I post all weekly Alertra reports to the service monitoring board so I definitely have nothing to hide!  :)  It's always good to hear when something is going on "just in case" it happens to be something substantial.

I get paged and then called when Alerta spots an outage and they monitor every 5 mins.   So if it's just a service restart (like today) it's generally nothing to worry about. We have a service that monitors loads and will restart things if necessary.  This will usually fix most issues -- for example, if a script hung and started eating up resources.  But in the event it happens a few times in a row, we usually will start looking for the culprit.

Cheers,
Jason
