Title: SMF Question: How do I change my Logo?
Post by: Garrett on June 27, 2011, 09:10:10 PM
Hello. I was just wandering, how do you change the logo at the top of the page?

I am using SMF 2.0 and I've already made the Logo, and uploaded it to Flickr.

It depends on the theme you're using.  Most of them have a field where you can specify what logo image displays at the top.

Also, you might want to host your logo on your account.  It may be faster than hosting it off-server.

How do I host it on my account?

Upload the file to your account using an FTP program or the File Manager in cPanel.  I'd recommend setting up an ftp program on your computer since that's the way you'll likely want to manage your backups, upgrades, etc.

I'm hosting it on my account currently.

I am using a Theme by Crip called "Cracked"

I see a Text box for Theme Images URL, The URL for the Theme itself, and Theme Directory in the "Current Theme" part of the Admin Panel.

If that theme doesn't offer a way to change the image in SMF admin, then you could either:

a) upload your own logo with one with the same filename, overwriting the one that's there now

or

b) upload your own logo and alter the code in index.css that loads the logo.

Looks like others have asked that question for this theme on the Theme's thread on SMF.  There's an example of the code to edit there:
