Still getting it?
I got it too when trying to go to someone's board last night on a *different* server than you. Never seen it myself prior to that. It went away when I refreshed.
Let me see what I can find out.
Haven't talk to any members yet will have to wait and see Monday.
Thanks.
If you are a charter member on SMF, you can view my post from earlier...no responses yet though.

We're looking into this on our end. No response back from SMF, though I've seen the error above, as well as:
501 Method Not Implemented
Will update this thread as I discover more.
Ok, apparently some stronger mod_security filters were put in place across the servers that were later determined to be too problematic. I've been told that we shouldn't be receiving these any longer.
Please let me know if you experience this again.
Regards,
Jason
Update: My apologies, this is being removed now. I will report once complete.
Ok, done. Please let me know if you get further errors.
I got this error today and when I googled this page came up!
I installed the User CP mod which has an option to contact the Admin by email or PM. It's set to email but when I tried to change it I got
501
Method Not Implemented
POST to /testforum/index.php not supported.
I realise this is an older topic but I didnt want to start another one about the same error.
Does it have something to do with security on the server with emails or the Mod itself? I have asked about it but no reply yet
Is it site-wide now or just for a specific page?
Can you post or send me a link?
I'm assuming it to be related to the User CP mod but the only thing that came up on google was this thread. I have uninstalled the mod again and posted in the SMF thread but no reply as yet. In the admin panel settings for this mod, I couldnt make any changes or it would throw up that error. It has options for emailing the Admin of the site or PMing them, and changing that option threw up the 501 error. I wasnt sure if it was some setting on the server that didnt like it or something.
It was only happening when I tried to change the options for that mod. If I kept it as default it was ok, thing is I don't want people emailing me so I wanted it changed to PM.
I just thought I'd post here in case you knew of other reasons why it might be happening, but I guess I will have to forget about it for now until the mod author answers the questions. It was on my testforum, I don't have a link now as I uninstalled the mod :(
Hi Jason
The mod author said he's never seen that error before and I should check with my host. Any ideas?
I don't have any idea unless you can provide me a specific page to view producing that error.
The earlier issues with the mod security settings *could* be related but I'd need a page to analyze to be sure. It doesn't seem related.
ok I will try and install it again in the morning. Do you need a screenshot or a URL to the page as it's via the Admin panel where the error occurs?
Ideally an admin login and instructions to get there would be great.

Sorry I havent had time to look at this again until the weekend, so I sent you the login/password by email. Just FYI
Got it. However, the admin login doesn't appear to have admin rights. :)
huh? hang on, let me check that and I'll get back to you
ok, you are definitely admin now. I did it on Saturday when I registered you but it didnt stick for some reason. Looks ok now :)
It's working now and HOLY COW do you have a lot of mods installed!
I'm not able to get the 501 error. When I try to save any change, it redirects me to a page that doesn't exist it seems. As if the coding of the mod is wrong.
I looked at the mod page on SMF's site and it has a known error of how to install it manually if you get any errors during the mod install. Did it successfully install with no errors when you did it?

I am using firefox and I get the message 'method not implemented' on the white page it takes you to but firefox says 501 method not implemented .
First time I installed it, no fails, but still got that 501 not implemented problem. Second time I tested it, I got a modsetting.php fail which is common, fixed the file, and still got that error.
When I first installed this mod a few weeks ago it installed with no errors and I still go that problem (which is when I brought it up with mod author) and since then I have reinstalled everything (test forum) and this time I had to edit the modsettings.php file as per the mod instructions as it does fail if you have other mods, but either way, I still get that error which points to the server, and the Mod author says to talk to my host.
I was contemplating looking at the 'got problems with mod security' threads to see if maybe that might help
I do see it as a 501 error. I'll have to figure out what that means as there could be multiple issues going on here. Did you say you tried this mod by itself on a completely fresh install?
yes sorry, I did, the first time I installed it, had no fails, still got the same prob
Fixed -- it was a mod security setting like the first post from this thread.
cool, thanks Jason, I'll go check it out :)
yeah that's it all working now, thanks very much Jason. :)
No problemo! :D
