Thunder had a large amount of email queued this morning which caused high loads and two httpd restarts totalling around 5-10 mins of httpd problems and assorted slow-downs. I've noticed a few other mail queue backups lately on this server as well.
To try and alleviate this, we've added some spam blacklists today to the mailserver on this box to hopefully weed out spam from getting to our queue in the first place. You may notice a difference in the amount of spam you receive overall.
On the other hand, should you have contacts that email from a blacklisted IP/host, this could prove problematic for you/them.
Keep me posted on any issues you notice. Overall, this change should be quite positive, but odds are, someone may have a contact somewhere that's on a questionable IP or box that's going to get blocked. In those cases, we'll have to balance the positives and negatives of keeping this in place.
Regards,
Jason
