PHP5 upgrade (Cyclone)

You're receiving this email because you're a Charlottezweb customer with an account on Cyclone.

I'm going to begin upgrading our servers to PHP version 5 and I'd like to start with this server.

Upgrading to this should have no impact at all to your site as it is. It's been thoroughly tested for SMF, coppermine and most integrated scripts.

I'd like to upgrade this server in the next day or so. This should not require any outage or updates on your end.

I wanted to run this by you to see if you have any objections or questions first.

PHP will have to be upgraded at some point regardless and it's been out for quite awhile now. Most larger scripts should support it with no consequence.

Please advise me of any questions you may have. Otherwise, we're looking towards an upgrade Thursday evening, or sooner if I've heard back from everyone.

Once this is complete, I will be emailing *all* clients in regards to upgrading the other two servers sometime over the next two weeks.

FYI, PHP will be upgraded on Cyclone tonight (Thursday, Jan 19).

This has been completed on Cyclone. Please let me know if you experience any issues. From the sites I've explored, it appears there was no impact.

Coppermine has a post about db query errors due to php 5.

I've been having some probs with it at the hosting co. I'm with now and looked it up. They assumed it was me but not.
