Both servers were rebooted to activate kernel upgrades that were performed last night for security/functional issues.

Lightning was rebooted at approx 9:44pm EST
Thunder followed approx 15 minutes later.

The upgrades went very quickly without any problems, though I am currently investigating the lack of advance warning I was given.  It's always been my gameplan to email everyone and post here prior to any scheduled reboots or outages.  Last night's upgrade caught me off guard, as I know it did for many of you who emailed and called me.  :)

I'll post back here once I get more resolution, hopefully by the end of the day.

Regards,
Jason

To follow up on this post, I am still in discussion over the issue of notice on this kernel upgrade.  I've been told that not notifying me was an oversight that should be corrected going forward.  At this point,    I will update here as has been the process whenever I'm informed of a scheduled outage.  I'm hoping to get 24hrs notice though for security purposes, it may be necessary for us to react sooner if urgency requires it.

I've been told that I will be provided 24hrs notice going forward for scheduled updates/upgrades.  I will post here and email everyone as applicable going forward.

Jason
