Below is a posted notice of planned maintenance scheduled for next Friday:

Quote
Time: 04:30 EDT on Friday May 13th.
Window duration: 2.5 hours
Anticipated impact: 30 minutes

Impacted services:
Atlanta PCCW (Gold network) and nLayer (Gold and Silver network) upstream connections

Details of Maintenance:
A hardware upgrade will be performed on our network on Friday, May 13th that will impact connections to two of our upstream carriers.  During this time period customers on the Atlanta Gold and Silver networks may experience sub-optimal routing as traffic is shifted to other providers.

Simplified, there will be a period between 4:30pm-7pm EST where they will be working on two of the connections supporting part of the network.  The actual work should only take up to 30 minutes but it could occur any time during that timeframe.

Typically these types of maintenance don't cause any visible issues however there is the chance that any users who utilize these two connections for routing to/from our servers may see slowness (or even a possible outage) during the 30-minute timeframe they're doing the work.  After that timeframe, it may take a little while for the network to normalize and reroute traffic via the fastest route again.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Guess they started early too.  We're down for the count with a can't connect to server error message.  :P

That's not related.  That's a server issue:

The datacenter maintenance would either make the server slow to reach or you would be completely unable to reach it.  What's going on with that one server right now is different -- the sites are loading but anything using mysql will return an error.  The sites are reachable fine, it's just that something is going wrong internally on that one server.

We're working on it now.  Thanks!
