June 12-16, 2011 :: Scheduled Server Reboots

Greetings from Charlottezweb,

In support of our ongoing efforts to keep our servers up to date and as secure as possible, we will be doing a reboot of almost all of our servers starting this coming Sunday. The reboots will activate some recent configuration changes we've made.

To limit disruption, we will reboot two servers per day over the course of 5 days.

Impact: Typically a reboot causes 5-10 minutes of service disruption. It's possible it could take more (or less). In the event we experience an issue with a server during a reboot, I will communicate updates on this forum thread.

Our servers Typhoon and Supercell were already rebooted to address this update and will not be impacted by this maintenance.

Here is the current schedule. Currently I am targeting 10pm EST each evening for this activity. If anything changes, I will use this thread on our forum as the method of communication.

Whiteout and Jetstream were scheduled for tonight. Since Jetstream was rebooted last week (after my original post), it didn't need to be rebooted.

Whiteout has been rebooted.
