Your votes are needed to name our next servers

Discussion started on Pre-Sales Questions

As we've typically done in the past, it's time for you to vote on what we should name our next servers.   I'm going to use this poll over the next few months as we add and replace a few older servers.

The poll will run for 120 days but I'll grab the top choices as I need to bring a new server online.

Our server names are based on types of weather.  For your reference, you can view our current server names on our server status page:

Thanks!

Sandstorm or Blackice!

As for reusing old server names, I think it's a cool homage to where it all began, but may cause confusion because of all the old posts on your forums referencing them.

Also, you have Sandstorm on there twice, you must really like it. :P

That's certainly a valid point.

OOPS!  Thanks.  I cleared that out -- can you make sure I didn't mess up your votes?

Mine are still there, because I voted for the top one, but someone (maybe you?) had voted for the one you deleted so it's missin one vote.

Ok, I wasn't sure.  I assume you only voted for 2 and not 3 then?

I have to figure out how to add back my other vote.  :)

Yeah, just the two. :)

I voted Lightning but then I read what Mark wrote and he has a point. so I will go for Sandstorm then.
I hope I can still change it.

Edit: yes I changed it.

Owner and Operator, Garrett's Websites

How come they're all named for disasters? ;)

How 'bout

Cyclone (no servers start with C yet)

Heatwave

Landslide

Squall (it's just a great word)

Waterspout

If you wanna go with some obscure wind/sandstorm names

Haboob

Derecho

It started as weather phenomena but sort of morphed to include diaster-type events in nature as well.  :)

Cyclone was one of our first servers.   Here's our "moment of silence" thread:

I think I had Derecho on a list once or if not, it's on a list I have that I pick and choose from each time.  I do like Landslide, Squall and Waterspout -- I think we've voted on one or more of those before.  I'd imagine all of those will be used at some point.

I haven't thought of Heatwave before.  I've made note of that now too.

Thanks!

Quick update -- Sandstorm is now online.  It was the top vote at this time.

I've updated our server line-up thread:
