Google buying Napster now??

NEW YORK, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Shares of digital music service Napster Inc. (NAPS.O: Quote, Profile, Research) surged more than 30 percent in premarket trading on a report that it was in discussions with Google Inc. for an alliance that could include a sale.

Internet giant Google (GOOG.O: Quote, Profile, Research) is in talks with Napster over an "extensive alliance" that could include an "outright acquisition," according to a Tuesday report in the New York Post, citing anonymous sources.
