I will be sending out an email to all clients tonight alerting them to the changes that will be implemented within the next few days for the Charlottezweb "Client's Area" --

This thread will serve as a placeholder for discussion on that topic.

Here's the email:

Greetings from Charlottezweb!

I wanted to alert everyone to a website change I will be doing over the next several days.

I've been hinting at a redesigned Charlottezweb site for at least a year or two and I'm trying to wrap that up now.  A large part of this redesign involves implementing a brand new backend system that will control billing, support tickets and MUCH more.

I aim to have this system in place within the next few days.  I will send out more details around the change once it's in place and fully tested, however, I wanted to make sure everyone was aware in case you started receiving automated emails from Charlottezweb that are different from what you're used to getting in the past.

Note:  The Charlottezweb site won't "appear" different just yet -- that will follow within the next month.  The Client Area of the site is what will be changing this weekend.

If you have any concern over the authenticity of anything, ALWAYS feel free to reach out to me however please be aware that there may be some assorted emails that start going out that are not what you're presently used to.

It is my hope that this new system will impress everyone and address some of the suggestions and concerns you've provided me with in the past.

Cheers,
Jason

If you have questions, concerns, bugs, feedback, etc. please post them here so I can see where we stand.

Thanks as always,
Jason

Mark

Is this (www.charlottezweb.com/autopilot/clogin.php) still the client area?

At this moment, but not for long.

OK, sounds good.

Oh, I misread the e-mail, I thought the new clients area was up already. :P

Here's an update:

The old system didn't properly track domain name registrations.  I'm therefore going through and adding domain names to your account if you have one purchased through me.  This is causing invoices to go out if this applies to you.

You can safely ignore these invoices for now or if you have any concern, login to your new client area using the email it sent you and the invoice will be gone if it wasn't accurate.

Thanks,
Jason

Here's an update I'm sending to all clients now:

- - - - - - -

Greetings from Charlottezweb!

A very quick update for everyone:

The transition to the new billing system is going quite well.

The new system is capable of invoicing on all levels of service whereas the old one could not.  To make use of this, I've been going through and adding domain names to the accounts of all customers who have their domains purchased through Charlottezweb.   This is causing an automated invoice for that fee to be emailed to those individuals.  If your billing is current, you can IGNORE these emails that are going out this weekend.

As always, feel free to email me if you have any questions otherwise, please ignore any invoices received over this weekend for items you've already paid for.

Please stay tuned to this forum post for the latest details.  I'll send another email back out to everyone when the transition is finalized (which should be later today or tomorrow).

Regards,
Jason

Update:

As of now, we should be fully live on the new system.

I've updated all the links across the site to direct to the new system.  (If you find any old ones I missed, please let me know).

Everyone who has a domain through Charlottezweb will now be able to manage it through their client area.

It's possible there still may be an invalid invoice for a bit as it goes through the first cycle so please email me if you have any concern over an invoice you think may be incorrect.  Otherwise, it should be emailing the proper notices going forward.  It will also send you a "receipt" when your payments clear -- That's something that the old system couldn't do.

I plan on posting a full list of all the cool stuff the new system supports but the easiest way would be to login for yourselves.  :)

It will use the same email address that you had in the old system as your login.  You can go out and request a password reset (link below) and it will send you your new password.  (Please don't create a new account as all current clients should already be in the system).

http://www.charlottezweb.com/clients/passwordreminder.php

I'll make a bigger announcement about this soon as well, but going forward, if you email "support@charlottezweb.com" it will automatically open a troubleticket for you in the system.  And if you email it from the mailbox you use for your account with me, it will automatically put all of your tickets (and responses) in your client area where you can always go back and retrieve them later.  In fact, all emails (and orders, invoices, receipts, etc) sent through the system will be archived in your client area.

Just as easily, you can open a sales or tech support ticket through your client area to include more information, attachments, etc.

Give it a test and let me know what you think.  Thanks!

Cheers,
Jason

(If all goes well, I'll try to get the matching site design released in the upcoming few weeks).

The new interface is so easy to navigate a monkey can do it! I love it. ;D

Suggestion: You may want to have the old client area link re-direct over to the new one?
