Htaccess file

They are my nightmare,

I know for Google when a site was being indexed I did'nt want Google said put this in your root which I did.

Someone said I should have an Htaccess in every directory I don't want people seeing whats in there. When I did put in the file the other day in an image directory the file did'nt turn up even next day.

.htaccess doesn't need to be in every directory

Also, your site likely won't be indexed every day so changing something in regards to google could take days/weeks/months to show up in their results unless they've published information contrary to that somewhere that I haven't seen.
