Suddenly I can't send email from my Windows Mail from chautona@chautona.com and chautona@hearthkeepers.com (I'm guessing that fairburytales isn't working either.)

BUT... I can GET email to those accounts.

Sending gives me this error.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject '', Account: 'Chautona', Server: 'mail.chautona.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

But, up until at least a week or two ago, I sent just fine.  (They aren't my primary account so I don't know when it started.)

I tried  to configure an email account for patternpiece.com through the cpanel and see what settings it gives, but now the email account I tried that from (patternpiece.com is an add on so I assumed the email configuration stuff would be the same) now won't receive or send.

But, if you have any ideas, I'd love to know.  I haven't changed anything in my Windows Mail (except for that thing I just tried) or in my cpanels so I'm a bit stumped.

Try setting them to use port 26 instead of 25.

If that fails, also try shutting down (temporarily) any firewall you run to see if that has any impact.

HKmod

Gulp.  What should incoming be.  I thought the old one was 110 but ever since I tried changing to the new email thingie, it doesn't work.  Even though I tried to put it back how I thought it was.

HKmod

Sigh... tried on hearthkeepers.com and changing still lets me get email... but won't let me send.

Jason

Inbound (POP) is 110.  Don't change that.

So you set 25 to 26 for outbound (SMTP) and that did nothing?

Did you temporarily turn off any firewalls you run and try that?

HKmod

Ok, tried turning off firewall.  It didn't work.

It still won't send but I can receive everywhere.

Jason

If multiple accounts all stopped at once and you didn't change anything, it sounds like something on your pc changed or your ISP started blocking port 25.

I assume if you send via webmail that it works fine?

You could try to delete one of the accounts from your mail program and then adding it again.

Do you have "my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication" checked and using the same settings as incoming?

Have you tried setting it to login to the incoming mail server before sending mail?

HKmod

I assume that it sent... I tried it and it is in the sent folder (from webmail).

Will it still forward to my inbox when there's a reply?

I did try deleting and adding.  Failed.

Authentication is the same... I think.

They always bring in the email before it sends out?

There's a setting to force it to login (authenticate) to the incoming mail server before sending.  That's what I was asking.

You may want to open a ticket so we can explore this more thoroughly.  It honestly sounds like something on your machine given how you've described it but I'll do my best to help you solve it.

Try:

smtp: 465
select: (this server requires a secure connection (SSL)

pop3: 110

Is there a webmail option too?

Yes, just add /webmail to the end of your domain name.
