We will be performing some MySQL maintenance on Tsunami this coming Thursday evening:  October 13, 2011 at approximately 11pm EST.

This maintenance should take approximately 30 minutes.  During this time, the server will be online and services -- except for MySQL -- will not be impacted.  Sites requiring MySQL connectivity to run (for example: forums, blogs, etc) will be impacted during the window.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I will be emailing a link to this thread to all customers with current accounts on Tsunami within the next 10 minutes.

Thank you!

Regards,
Jason

Just want to confirm: EST, not EDT - no daylight savings?  = GMT -5?

I believe daylight savings (Summer) goes until November 6 so the time would be GMT -4

I guess it's technically EDT  :)   I call it EST all year regardless of daylight savings.

Tsunami is currently facing some mysql service restarts.  If necessary, we will do the scheduled maintenance for tonight right now if that will address the issues.  I will keep this thread updated.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason

We are doing this maintenance now.   I was hoping to do this as scheduled later in the evening vs. this time of day but unfortunately the service is currently unstable.

I will update this thread once this is complete.

Thanks

Pam

We appear to be back up and running, however we have lost some of our 'posts'.  The last post is shown @ ~8:30 a.m. and there were several made following that time.  It's not an issue really ... just curious?

Jason

The lengthy portion of the maintenance is done.  Hopefully it should not be much longer.

I will keep you posted.

Jason

This should be complete as of approximately 30 minutes ago.

If you're seeing anything abnormal, please let me know.

The maintenance window for tonight will no longer be needed.

Thanks,
Jason

Unfortunately I can't explain that.  I can understand if someone was typing something prior to the outages that it would be lost if it failed to write it to the the database when the service restarted but if you were able to view the posts and then they disappeared afterwards, that should not happen.  The first mysql failure notice I received today was at 8:40am.  They continued after that.  So there was definitely some abnormal behavior around that time.
