Due to security concerns, PHP will be upgraded on all servers to 4.4.1 tomorrow evening sometime after 9pm EST.

Please make sure your scripts are compliant with this release so that your sites are ready for this update.

For those of you running out of date versions of SMF I'd recommend you update immediately.  The following thread may also be helpful if you have any issues:

Wait, do you mean 4.4.1 or 4.1.1

Isn't that fix only needed if you have 4.4?

Good catch, yes, it's 4.4.1.

I saw conflicting information in the thread regarding 4.4.0 and 4.4.1 and varying versions of SMF, so I was basically suggesting to upgrade to the latest release to avoid any issues.  :)

Otherwise, according to the thread, if you have SMF 1.1 Beta 3 Public or higher, this upgrade should have no impact.  But if you have 1.0.5 or below, your forum may not work without their upgrade.

If you have more info, please let us know!

oh.. ok

Ive been reluctant to upgrade our forum to the Beta release, because of all the bugs ive read about it.  Ive been waiting for a clean release of it..

*cross fingers the php release wont affect the forum* :-\

Well, that beta is pretty old now -- 1.0.5 and 1.1RC1 have been released in July and September respectively.  I would recommend moving up to 1.1.rc1.  It was painless on the forums I ran it on.

Actually, you're already on 1.0.5 from what I can see.  The patch in the thread above should be very painless to make sure you don't have any issues.  Let me know if you need assistance.

Nope you pretty much covered it :)

Elril, while the RC1 release of SMF 1.1 is very stable if you wish to stay with 1.0.5 please reffer to the topic Jason linked to (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=41955.0). If you want a seemless transition you should apply it before the server switch over :)

Just to update you -- this has been temporarily placed on hold.  I will update you further as I learn more.

Jason

The upgrade is being performed tonight.  I will update you once completed.

Thanks!
