Lightning Reboot :: Feb 2, 2005

This is an email sent to clients on our Lightning server.

Dear xxxxx,

I wanted to inform everyone that the Charlottezweb server, Lightning, is going to be rebooted today.  I'm going to try to hold off until later tonight so that a minimum number of users are impacted, but a process froze during backups around 4:15am EST today that has caused high loads and a few mysql restarts.  Normal methods of killing the process have failed so we're going to reboot.

If we experience any more outages, I'm going to order the reboot asap to prevent any more issues.  The reboot will result in about a 2-5 minute outage of your sites and email.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Again, this is only for users on our second server, Lightning.
