Greetings...

If anyone is curious about the look of the forums, please don't be alarmed :)

I have just installed the alpha release of SMF (www.simplemachines.org)  which is going to revolutionize open-source forum software.  It is the replacement of YabbSe (yabbse.org) which I've been using/installing for users for the past year and a half since it's birth.  :)

It was released tonight (to beta testers) and I'm one of the members running this release for testing purposes.  I will try to return the "look" of the forum back to how it looked before as soon as possible.

Regards,
Jason

The forum engine has just been updated (again).  We're now running the latest Alpha release:

SMF 1.0 Beta -3.1415.

Yes, that's right, negative pi.  Don't ask me, I didn't name it!  I believe they're shooting for a public release within the next month or two.  Should be exciting.

Saturday Feb 14, 2004 :: SMF (forum software) upgrade to beta4

I've just completed an update to today's forum release of SMF beta 4.

Please ignore the look of the forum, I'll devote time to that after the next (hopefully public) stable release.

If you find any bugs, I'd love to hear about them!

Regards,
Jason

Exciting news!!

SMF has been released to the public!  It's still not advised to be used in production sites, but it's a huge step forward.  As you've noticed, we're running it here and it's looking great.

As always, we'll install this for any clients for free.

Thanks, I haven't updated this thread in quite a while as you can tell!  Upgrading all my boards to that is my goal for this weekend.  :)

Let me know how that works for you.  I bookmarked that ocportal site you posted on in another thread.  I'll have to do a little reading on it later.  :)

from Simple Machines:
We are happy to bring you SMF 1.0.1. This is a minor release, but contains many bugfixes. As always, we hope this new version is more stable, usable, and generally better than the previous.

So far so good.  It has some newer features which are nice touches.  I haven't explored everything new in the admin center yet but it appears a lot of the settings were reorganized in a better manner.  You can also label pm's and sort them into folders.
